When Libby asked if we’d be willing to fly up to Rhode Island to shoot their engagement session, we of course said, “yes!”. Their wedding will be at Huntsville Botanical Garden early next year, and how fun it was to photograph their session in a place that means so much to them!

As Joel and I explored the town of Newport before the session, we wanted to find some locations that felt quintessentially Newport. It didn’t take long to settle on the Cliff Walk with its exquisite mansions, water views, and stone walls! So many elements we loved came together in one spot: stunning architecture, picturesque gardens, and backdrops with a statement.

Ochre Court on Newport’s Famed Cliff Walk

We met Libby and Dutch at Newport’s famed Cliff Walk just as the light was gaining its golden hues. The wind was blowing in typical seaside fashion, so we headed straight over to the breath-taking grounds of the Ochre Court mansion. 

What a location for their engagement session! We could have spent hours happily clicking away behind our cameras. Libby and Dutch were amazing and so sweetly let us stop at various locations all around the grounds! Dutch grew up in this area, and we loved hearing him share little pieces of history and interesting facts about the area we were in. 

After our time around Ochre Court, we headed closer to the water to end their session with some classic seaside backdrops. The wind was still a little crazy! Libby and Dutch handled it so well, and we got some fun shots in between the gusts.

These two made our time so much fun, and we can’t wait for their wedding next year!
