When I think back on Libby and Dutch’s formal and elegant wedding day at Huntsville Botanical Garden, three things immediately come to mind. The first memory to stand out was the balmy 70-degree weather on a February afternoon. We dodged plenty of rain in order to get it, but the misty magic was totally worth it! It was 28 degrees and windy at our Garden wedding just a month ago, and what a difference this was!
Bonus: the winter mist worked so perfectly with the Scottish-inspired details of the wedding! Dutch has a Scottish heritage and showcased his legacy with his wedding attire. (Side note – Joel and I went to a Scottish college and adore the Scottish culture and heritage!) Taking portraits in this romantic mist made me think of the Scottish highlands!
Second, the wedding celebration that Libby, Dutch, and Libby’s amazing mom Mrs Trisha pulled together was stunning. Wow! I knew they would create something spectacular, but I wasn’t even prepared for how much I loved the elegantly formal vibe they used. I can’t wait to show you some of that decor!
And third, but definitely not the least, was how much fun we had with everyone! We really cherished the time we had with Libby and Dutch in Rhode Island for their Cliff Walk engagement session (so dreamy), so we knew this crew would be a blast. Experiencing these moments with Libby and Dutch as they exchanged vows and shared memories with family and friends was truly a gift! Their bridal party was hilarious and so fun.
I had so many favorite details! For starters, just check out Libby and Dutch’s invitation suite by Ledgewood Fine Stationery. The gold lace gatefold and thermography paired with a classic style brought it to a whole new level. Couture Cakes created a masterpiece cake that greeted guests as they entered the reception suite. Metropolitan DJ added a cake spotlight to offset the romantic, dim lighting. The result was spectacular! Definitely don’t miss that picture later in this post!
Another thing you don’t want to miss is Libby and Dutch’s ceremony decor! Soft white leaves towered above the center aisle as Libby glided down in absolute beauty. (She was the most gorgeous bride!) The Garden’s Carriage House was transformed into a magical winter wonderland.
Huntsville Botanical Garden is a gorgeous venue year-round, but I especially appreciate it during the winter! The architecture works so perfectly to complement minimal nature backdrops. Winter weddings have their own special kind of beauty! This wedding was a stunner, and we’re so excited to share just a few memories with you!
Libby & Dutch – thank you for the honor of capturing your amazing wedding day! It was a privilege to share these sweet memories. You light each other up when you’re together, and we wish you many joyful memories in this new journey together! Hugs to you both!
*hugs*
