Besides being a local celebrity as a current Jeopardy champion (not gonna lie, we’re proud of him!!), Matthew is also the guy who brings the sunshine to Angela’s world. And the feeling is mutual, because Angela’s biggest smiles come when she’s glancing over her shoulder at Matthew. When their DJ Kandy and I were talking before the ceremony, the exact same phrase came out of our mouths simultaneously: “they’re so adorable.”

We had the best time with Angela and Matthew at their colorful fall engagement session in downtown Huntsville. Scroll all the way to the end of that blog post to see some of my very favorite pictures from their session! I don’t think they could be any cuter together. So getting to do it all over again at their wedding was a-okay with us!!

Angela and Matthew chose a classic, traditional wedding ceremony and reception at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Madison. We started the day in a calm, quiet getting ready space at the church. Taking a moment to breathe and eat before the whirlwind starts is a really great way to prepare for all the excitement the rest of the day will hold. Getting ready moments with the moms are always really sweet.

Then it’s showtime! I love a First Look! Angela and Matthew also did a letter exchange during that time. After a few quick portraits, we headed inside to prepare for the ceremony! The center of the entire day. It’s always special, always so perfect. After finishing up the portraits and some downtime for Angela and Matthew, it was time for them to hit their reception!

Lots of mingling, really good Mason Dixon food, and a fun dance floor. One of my favorite unique parts of the day was their photo blitz. Seriously, I loved it! Angela and Matthew had one song to run around the room and pose with every table for a picture. Joel ran around with them to take the pictures, and I had the really entertaining job of videoing it because it was both hilarious and so fun. We always make an intentional effort on the wedding day to try to get as many groups and tables as we can, but sometimes the room set up or reception flow makes it a little more challenging for us. This was literally our dream come true! The guests had fun getting all set up at their table with a space saved for the bride and groom to slip into before moving onto the next table. The couple has great posed pictures with literally everyone at their reception. While we still took plenty of group pictures throughout the rest of the reception, we all loved knowing we had those great pictures already in the gallery. There are different ways to do a photo blitz, but I really did love it so much.

What else did I love? Angela and Matthew, how they love each other, how perfect they are for each other, and how thoughtful they are. Every email I get from them is sweet, thoughtful, and enthusiastic. They’re just a joy. We’re so excited for them, and I’m excited for you to see the memories from their wedding day.
