Chris + Taya’s Wedding and Internationally-Inspired Ballroom Reception at the Westin! – Huntsville Wedding Photography

Chris and Taya. These two just light up when they’re around each other. During the best man’s speech at the reception, Chris’ brother said that their family knew it was serious when Chris got all excited about this girl he was seeing. Give Chris a winning lottery ticket, and he would be a cool cat. Give him Taya, and he’s a burst of sunshine. Taya is so sweet and loving toward everyone. Give her Chris, and she just radiates happiness. Watching these two together is seriously a heartwarming experience.

Taya grew up in Russia and has friends and family from over the world. We loved the international flair Taya incorporated into her wedding – from Russian Honey Cakes to a traditional bread ceremony – that made it so unique!

 

An Alabama summer sometimes means rain, but these guys didn’t let a little rain stop the fun! We grabbed a few fun shots with the bridal party under this fabulous little overhang, then headed over to the Westin at Bridge Street to start the party!

Chris and Taya had friends and family from 14 different countries and  9 states represented at their reception. How amazing is love? It brought people literally from all over the world to celebrate Chris and Taya’s love and commitment to each other. Seriously, how cool is that?

We love how Taya showcased these world travelers with her table decor!

With the rain slowing down to just a few sprinkles, we headed out with Chris and Taya for a sweet little portrait session!

 

 

This girl is so gorgeous!

Taya’s maid of honor choreographed these awesome dances for each bridal party pair to enter the reception with. (She also choreographed Chris and Taya’s first dance – we all need a friend with that kind of talent!)

After practicing a few dance moves in a private lounge, we headed down for the grand entrance!

The Russian bread and salt ceremony is an old Russian tradition that symbolizes always having the necessities of life and that they’ll always care for each other. The bride and groom dip the bread in the salt and feed it to each other. So neat!

Chris and Taya’s first dance was so beautiful and graceful! Our J&A Couples have seriously been rocking these first dances. Perfection!!

 

Taya’s cake had a mixture of traditional wedding cake and these amazing little Russian Honey Cakes. They were adorable and so good!

Now these people knew how to bust a dance move! Their energy was catching and we had such a blast hanging out with Metropolitan DJ spinning these tunes!

We adore grandparents. Especially ones as sweet at these!
