All The Golden Sparkle

Erica and Evan’s wedding day dawned bright and sunny. The forecast for the August day soared into the 90s, and we were all ready for a scorcher. Maybe it was because we were having such a grand time, or maybe it was because the Ledges lies peacefully atop a mountain. I’m convinced God just gave us an extra little joyful gift. Either way, we agreed that it wasn’t so bad outside after all!

That was just one little example of the amazingness of Erica and Evan’s wedding day at The Ledges. With a couple as kind, thoughtful, and sweet at Erica and Evan, every little detail had just a little extra sparkle.

One of the things we love about them is how they know what they want and know how to make that happen. (Erica loves organization as much as I do -and spreadsheets as much as Joel!) At the same time, they are so considerate of others! We loved spending all of those moments with them. Erica’s laughter, Evan’s sweet smile. They just fill our hearts.

Art Deco of Black and Gold

I loved the strong theme carried throughout the wedding day! Erica and Evan chose an Art Deco theme with strong black and gold elements, complemented by pops of white and greenery. It was simple, classy, elegant, and perfect for them.

The vibe was modern, with clean lines and simple touches. Another one of my favorite details was a precious tribute in honor of the groom’s father pinned onto Evan’s boutonniere. It honored his memory in a thoughtful, tangible way.

The Dream Team

Such a magical wedding day couldn’t happen without an amazing group of vendors to bring it to life! My first shout out goes to The Ledges for being such a dreamy wedding venue. Besides having one of our favorite spots in Huntsville for sunset portraits, we can never get enough of the fairytale-esque castle to use as a backdrop!

Lynn and Erica with Helping Hand Parties and Weddings always keep all the little details running smoothly. We just love working with them! They make things happen with such finesse and joy.

Erica was simply stunning in her dress from Kathleen’s bridal. It not only looked amazing on her, but it also fit the theme of her wedding day just perfectly. The hair and makeup team of Sarah Campbell and Face It With Claire worked their magic on Erica and her girls. They were all so beautiful! And put a Simpson’s Florist bouquet in their hands – exquisite! Kristen always turns flowers into creative and breath-taking designs.

After a sweet ceremony officiated by the bride’s father, Erica and Evan’s guests were treated to a scrumptious dinner catered by the Ledges, followed by a flavor selection from A Wilson’s cakes. Oh, was that cake delicious! I think that was one of my favorite wedding cakes yet. Yuuum!

Metropolitan DJ kept the music going as guests enjoyed several hours to mingle, dance, and pose in front of Metropolitan’s Magic Mirror. Erica and Evan ended the reception with a unique twist that was so fun! Instead of a formal exit, they enjoyed a private last dance together. The guests mingled in the foyer while the newly married couple soaked in the last few moments of their wedding day.
