Creekside Plantation Spring Wedding

I’m so excited to share this super sweet spring wedding at Creekside Plantation! Creekside at Collier’s End is a really pretty Huntsville wedding venue in the historic town of Mooresville, full of romantic garden backdrops and a southern plantation-style home. It’s beautiful. But what really makes this wedding so special to us is having the honor to photograph our dear SaraBeth’s wedding! SaraBeth has been our wedding day babysitter since Josiah was a baby. We’ve watched her grow from a shy girl sticking close to her mom after church to a beautiful, confident, blooming young lady that we all love so much!

Now she’s found her Prince Charming, and we couldn’t be happier for her. And if SaraBeth and Dylan’s adorable joy wasn’t enough, God gifted us with a really beautiful spring day. Sunshine, 60-degree temperatures, a gentle breeze (no blow-you-over March winds for this day!) The golden glow came out for sunset portraits and the world was showing up with all the southern greenery I missed during our winter sessions.

A relaxed morning flowed into some super sweet first looks, rolling into all the portraits before setting in to prep for the ceremony. Seeing their joy was so special! They both have their own ultra-happy-moment looks. SaraBeth scrunches her nose and laughs; Dylan shrugs his shoulders with a really cute smile. Watching that come out multiple times on the wedding day made my heart happy. They bring out the best in each other!

After exchanging vows, their guests were treated to a laid-back reception with plenty of food, outdoor space to enjoy, and Winslow Davis playing violin in the background. It was the perfect blend of romantic spring garden vibes and a low-key day where everyone could relax and connect.

A Few of My Favorite Wedding Details

Okay, I have a ton because this day was so special to us, but I did come up with a few tippy-top favorites. I loved SaraBeth’s dress!! It was perfection! She looked absolutely amazing in it, and I can’t get over the lace detail and dreamy sleeves. Even the train showed off the lace detail when it was bustled, and it’s not easy for a bustle to bring a whole look of its own.

Also a shout out to SaraBeth’s shoes. I’m a fan.

The welcome table is a new one in my list of favorite details, but this one was a favorite. It had 2 things – their engagement guest album and a hand-painted canvas. Obviously I’m a huge fan of the engagement guest album and get a lot of joy when I see one at the wedding. It’s just such a fantastic way to enjoy your favorite engagement pictures! I have a lot of sweet memories myself from that session. The canvas was handpainted by a local artist friend of theirs. Having that personal touch added a special pop to the entrance.

Peep Josiah and Arielle when you get to the reception. Josiah was so excited to be at this wedding, and don’t let Arielle’s grump face fool you. That girl truly loves her SaraBeth. Getting to have our kids at the wedding was a really, really special treat for us.

I could always keep going, but these pictures will tell their own special story. We are so happy for these two sweet souls!

SaraBeth & Dylan – this goes without saying, but this is one of the most special weddings we’ve had the privilege to photograph. Wedding after wedding, SaraBeth was always there on the couch when we rolled home late at night. Bits of conversation about school, work, and life. We asked about the picture of a young man we saw on her social media (spoiler alert: it was Dylan), and Joel and I would jokingly bemoan the day when our SaraBeth would be all grown up and finish her time as our faithful wedding night babysitter. Well, that day came. And I have to say that as much as we’re really going to miss coming home from a long wedding day to our beloved SaraBeth, we’re beyond thrilled that you found someone who loves you so well. We wish you both so much happiness in your new lives together as husband and wife!

*hugs*
