“I love you, not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you, not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me.” -Roy Croft

Tips On Choosing A Wedding Photographer - Huntsville Wedding Photography_0248

One of the beautiful parts of marriage is the way that we grow with each other. We challenge ourselves to be the best that we can be for this one person that we love so dearly. They make us want to become a better person just by believing, encouraging, and challenging us.

One helpful piece of advice a friend gave to us as head-in-the-clouds newlyweds was this: Remember that you are both sinners. Don’t always expect perfection, but show each other the grace and forgiveness that you wish to be shown yourself. You are two sinners helping each other walk this path of life, encouraging each other to become more and more like Christ.

You’re going to mess up. He’s going to mess up. Nobody’s perfect, and I can guarantee that being around each other all the time means you’ll find most of the imperfections pretty quickly. Marriage is about forgiveness. It’s about patience. Commitment. Encouragement. Grace.

And in the end, every bit is so worth it.

So become better listeners. Become better encouragers. Become the cheerleader, the safe place, the rock for each other.

Embrace what you can become together. Become better, stronger, more beautiful because you are there for each other.
