A couple Decembers ago, we got a phone call from a sweet lady. Her son was proposing to his girlfriend soon, and would we be available to photograph it?

A few days later, we met Blake at Huntsville Botanical Garden and devised the perfect proposal plan – complete with some ninja moves from behind the bushes. How fun was that? Sarah said “yes!”, and we’re so honored to have been there at the beginning!

Fast forward a few (much warmer) months to Sarah and Blake’s epic downtown engagement session. Sarah is a reporter for WHNT and has a great sense of fashion. She’s no stranger to the camera, and she and Blake both rocked that session.

Fast forward again to wedding day!! It almost felt surreal to wake up to the gorgeous sunshine and know that Blake and Sarah were getting married that day!

We started our afternoon photographing the most amazing details and capturing some of the sweetest moments of gift-giving. If I need help coming up with a super thoughtful gift idea, I think I know who to go to! Every time a gift was given, I was just hiding tears behind my camera. Each one was so very thoughtful!

They have generous, kind, thoughtful hearts. They love others so well. Even on a day when everything was really about celebrating them, they constantly thought about the joy of others. And the way Blake lights up around Sarah? I love it so much.

A stunning, stunning Sarah looked like a dream in her dress from Bella’s Bridal and Badgley Mischka shoes. Hair and makeup by Makeup Mel finished the look, along with a bracelet given by her parents as a wedding gift (one of those behind the camera tear-up moments). A bouquet by Be-you-tiful Designs complemented everything perfectly.

After photographing those stunning detail elements by Ledgewood Fine Stationery, Mrs Box, and Kendra Scott, we headed off with the amazing Matt and Ashley of Hampton Road Studios to start portraits! We loooved this bridal party! They were so much fun and so kind. And after Sarah and Blake said “I do!”, we headed out to The Ledges to celebrate in style!

We timed Sarah and Blake’s bride and groom portraits to be right around sunset, and the light did not disappoint!! Our hearts were so happy – not only about the gorgeous light, but about seeing Sarah and Blake’s love and joy highlighted by such beauty!

The Ledges treated everybody to another scrumptious meal while Metropolitan DJ geared up for a night of celebration. Draping by SW Productions, rentals by Mullins Special Occasions, and floral magic by Be-you-tiful Designs turned the room into a wonderland. Add in the Metropolitan Mirror, a stunning cake designed by Hamley Bake Shoppe, and an energetic group of guests – it was a party to remember!

Sarah and Blake drove away in their vintage car to start their new lives together, and we couldn’t be happier for them. They are an amazing couple, and we’re so blessed by them!

Some super cold December day, we’ll have to walk around the Botanical Garden with cups of hot chocolate just for old times sake. ;) Enjoy Barbados!
