Fall Wedding at Top of the Town in Cullman // Wedding Photographers in Huntsville, Alabama

Kristen and Miles are married! They exchanged vows at Top of the Town in Cullman. I think this was the first time we’ve really been in downtown Cullman, and we had a lot of fun scouting out some neat portrait locations! Top of the Town is on the 4th floor of a bank building, complete with a perfect balcony that overlooks the town.

I’m not a cold weather person at all, and these balmy November days make me so very happy. Kristen and Miles struck gold with absolutely gorgeous weather, sunshine, and a glorious sunset. It made for joyful portrait time outside! The sun set just about 15 minutes before the ceremony was scheduled to start, and it painted the sky with an array of pinks, yellows, and purply-golds.

Kristen, Miles, and their families are some of the most thoughtful people we’ve ever met! We came home with leftover wedding cake, a table arrangement of flowers, so many sweet words from their parents, AND a sweet text from the couple after they drove away. I mean!! My heart just melted at their kind, generous, thoughtful spirits. What a treasure those memories are!

Favorite Wedding Day Details

The puppy!!!!! Ellie the precious puppy came to join Kristen and Miles for a few pictures right after their first look, and it was so. much. FUN! What a little sweetheart.

If there’s an heirloom on the wedding day, it’s always going to make my favorites list. I think family heirlooms are incredibly special! Kristen carried an almost 100 year old handkerchief in the pocket of her dress. (Let’s also just give a shout out to wedding dress pockets while we’re on the top of favorite details.) Kristen is one of the third generation of brides who carried that handkerchief on her wedding day. What love that handkerchief has represented!

I also have to talk about that food. Wow, it was good! I was pretty heartbroken to discover that it was the caterer’s last event before retiring. A shout out to Designs by Grace – you definitely closed this chapter on a delicious note.
