Thanksgiving…the time of year where we stop and reflect on the many ways that God has blessed us during the year. It’s a reminder that God is the source of all blessings and works all things together for our good. (Romans 8:28!) Joel and I love the Lord and His blessings – today we want to share a few ways that we’ve seen God pour His love on us this year.
1. We’ve been blessed with incredible families. They’re supportive and encouraging, they laugh with us and cry with us, and they’re not afraid to call it like it is. We grew up in Christian homes with godly parents that taught us to walk with the Lord.
We’re especially thankful to be Uncle Joel and Aunt Amber to our little sunshines.
2. Our Providence OPC church is our second family. We’re always so overwhelmed with the love that they just pour out on others – whether its friends or family or strangers. We’re so very, very blessed to have this group of people to travel through life along side. We’re thankful beyond measure to belong to a church with solid Biblical teaching and God-honoring worship.
3. We love to travel! This year we were blessed to take a dream trip to tour Europe. (Follow our European adventures on our blog here and here!) We’re so thankful for the opportunities to adventure and explore!
4. Our lives are filled with all kinds of things that make us smile! Baby kittens with squeaky mews, the smell of summer, warm fuzzy blankets, movie nights at home, Saturday adventures, conversations with friends, cuddling all the babies, handcrafted lattes, decadent desserts. We’re so thankful for the little, everyday things in life that fill us with to the brim with simple joy.
5. We’re so thankful for God’s creation! There’s nothing more awe-inspiring, humbling, and overwhelmingly encouraging than standing on top of a mountain and being enveloped in God’s handiwork. To feel the sea-salt spray and gaze for miles across the vast ocean, to immerse yourself in the deep forest, to run across the rolling meadows of wildflowers. God has made us a beautiful world to live in – “the heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” (Psalm 19:1)
6. We have been so blessed this year with fabulous vendor friends that are as passionate about weddings as we are! We are encouraged by them and are continuously amazed by their mad skills!
7. And last, but most certainly not the least – we are so, so thankful for every one of our brides and grooms. We couldn’t imagine not having our lives filled with these incredible people. We are blessed by them in so many ways, and our lives are so much richer by spending this amazing time in their lives with them.
So here is to another year of sharing God’s love and blessings with those around us! What are you thankful for this year?
*hugs*
Amber
