We actually get asked this question quite a bit! A bride discovers that, for one reason or another, their bridal party won’t be even. They’ve got more bridesmaids than groomsmen, or maybe it tips in the direction of the groomsmen numbers.
Our answer is no! It’s not going to mess anything up by having a different number of bridesmaids and groomsmen.
The more of a difference there is, the more noticeable it will be. Similarly, the smaller the bridal party, the more obvious it will be.
Standing up with 8 bridesmaids and 7 groomsmen probably won’t even catch most people’s attention. All that being said, it doesn’t really matter if people notice! Since it’s your wedding day, you get to choose. As long as you’re happy, roll with it!
Especially if there’s a larger group, we can easily arrange the bridal party to make it less noticeable. Even with a smaller group, there are poses that take the attention off any uneven numbers.
You will need to figure out what that extra person will do during the recessional. Most of the time, one groomsman will have a bridesmaid on each arm so no one has to walk back alone.
It was a short and sweet Tidbit this week, but we hope you found it helpful!
Did any of you have an uneven number of bridesmaids and groomsmen?
*hugs*
