Oh, where to begin with these two? From the first time we met them, we nicknamed James and Elizabeth our “royal couple”. It started as a comment about their romantically royal names: James and Elizabeth. We are still in love with all things British after our trip to England last fall: tea, fish and chips, castles…and, of course, the royalty. Since the first meeting, they’ve proven themselves to be worthy of the title. Beautiful, poised, kind and gracious, sweet and fun; the list of qualifications could go on.
We were so honored to spend the day at their sides, catching glimpses of moments that will become the beautiful memories of such a special part of their love story. This amazing day was truly one fit for our “royal couple”.
We love this quote from Elizabeth’s mom Julie when she shared this sneak peek dress picture on her Facebook wall.
“I’ve watched her walk down these stairs 100 times… Here hangs her future….”
It just melted me to a puddle when I read that. The brides are always the star of the show. When you look around, though, and discover the rest of the story that’s unfolding, there you see Mom. Behind the scenes, making sure the day goes exactly as planned. Watching with happy tears as one of the people dearest to her heart starts a new future with someone else, takes the first step toward a new beginning. She’s there every step of the way. From the very beginning, every moment there.
These sweet bridesmaids gave Elizabeth a notebook filled with letters written from their hearts to her on her wedding day. What a treasure to cherish!
No getting ready session would be complete without wedding dress cookies from Peggy Ann Bakery! They were absolutely adorable and so yummy!
Dad’s face when he sees his little girl for the first time is always one of the most precious moments of the entire day. Bring on the tears!
These two are adorable! We love these First Look expressions! :)
We LOVE having another one of our J&A Brides in the bridal party!! Seeing these two friends together was so special, and we can’t wait for Madeleine’s wedding this winter!!
This girl is gorgeous. Like a princess. :)
A special photo session with Elizabeth’s Auburn Girls and their awesome group of ushers!
Then comes that moment. The one right before you take the biggest and most important walk of your life. The moment where the doors open and you walk toward your future, eyes locked on him, and everything else fades away.
After a most beautiful wedding ceremony, we all headed over to Valley Hill Country Club to take a few last pictures and get the reception started!
Elizabeth’s Father/Daughter dance started out as sweet as any other. As I’m tearing up, as always, the music changes.
And suddenly I find myself in the middle of whips and nae naes. It was hilarious and so perfect.
Valley Hill Country Club put out a gorgeous display of tantalizing nibbles for the guests to enjoy. This food looked like pieces of artwork!
And to finish it off was an ah-mazing cake by one of our favorites, Just Crumbs! This stuff was good.
Metropolitan DJ lit up the dance floor with a perfectly custom logo!
We took a few minutes for a special Auburn shout out! Auburn is a special part of their lives, and we loved seeing them surrounded by all these friends!
To James and Elizabeth, thank you so much for being our “royal couple”. You deserve every bit of that title. You two are truly treasures and we’re so blessed to be a part of your wedding day and of your lives. We wish you guys so much beautiful happiness.

Very nice presentation of a fantastic evening for Elizabeth and James. The Potts family has given a lot of inspiration to the rest of us with young daughters – not that I can touch Lee’s performance. Thanks for sharing the night again through this blog.
