We’ve come across this at more than one wedding: the time comes for groomsmen pictures, and we all head outside to find some gorgeous light to showcase these dapper gents.
Once we get all settled and ready to go, somebody discovers that none of the guys have their boutonnieres! We’ve now wised up enough to remember to double-check the guys before we head out, but it’s a small thing that’s often overlooked until it’s almost too late.
Today on the J&A Blog, we’ll be sharing some tips on making sure the guys have their boutonnieres at the right place and right time!
- Who is in charge?
- If you have a day-of wedding planner or coordinator, they’re great about making sure details like these happen when they’re supposed to happen! (Just one of the many reasons wedding coordinators are worth their weight in gold!)
- If you don’t have a day-of coordinator, assign a trustworthy friend or relative who will be at the venue early in the day. Tell them where to find the boutonnieres, who to contact if they haven’t arrived at the appropriate time, and who needs to be wearing one.
- When should this happen?
- You want to connect the guys with their boutonnieres as soon as they’re finished getting ready. Put the best man in charge of letting your “boutonniere person” know when the guys are ready to go!
- Don’t wait until the photographer is ready for the groomsmen pictures. Photographers are often working on a relatively tight timeline, and spending 10 minutes searching for and pinning boutonnieres can waste time that was reserved for pictures.
Thinking about small things like this and coordinating them before the wedding day can save lots of hassle later! :)
