This engagement session was epic for two reasons. First of all, this is my baby brother. When I told people my baby brother was getting married, I got some funny looks. I guess he’s not so little anymore. But to me, he’ll always be my beloved baby bro!
Epic reason number two: we ventured into the great white lands of South Dakota for this engagement shoot. In December. It was frigid and wonderful. This is one of our archived sessions, but it was too much fun not to share!
Austin and Jillian met when Austin was in first grade. They’ve been friends for as long as I can remember. None of us were surprised when they started dating! Jillian has been a sweet addition to our family for many years. Now it’s official!
Don’t let their lack of coats fool you. It was about 8 degrees that afternoon when we headed down toward the Missouri River for their engagement session. We had several “warm up” sessions in between poses! But celebrating this moment of promise with them was priceless – peeking in on this snapshot in time, a fresh blanket of sparkling snow, sweet whispers of wind swirling through the silence of a winter wonderland, glitter everywhere you look. It was worth a frozen camera battery!
I shared my Angry Birds hat with Austin. Love it!!
How fun was this? We created a mini snowstorm for them! They were such good sports.
We couldn’t resist getting in on the fun. I don’t think we could feel our feet at that point. Or our hands, or anything else!
Check out the The Day We Say “I Do” section of our blog to see their (much warmer!) wedding pictures! There is nothing more amazing than family. Hug yours a little tighter today!
*hugs*
