The Friday morning sun shone brightly on Hampton Cove Wedding Plantation – and after two weeks of southern spring rain, there were big smiles on many faces that morning! The happiest smiles of all belonged to Emily and Ben. After months of planning and dreaming (and dozens of happy emoticon-filled emails between Emily and me), their wedding day was finally here!
Filled with joyful tones of mint green and coral, on the shore of a sparkling lake surrounded by the canopy of lush green trees, and in the presence of the dearest people in their lives, Emily and Ben sealed their love with wedding day vows.
There was so much to love about this wedding – Ben’s big smile when he looked at Emily, classy mint green dresses, a bridal party that kept us laughing, romantic sunset portraits, an amazing group of guests, delicious tarts for the groom’s dessert table, and the fabulous golf cart that Carla chauffeured us around in. Thank you, Carla! :)
Not to mention one of their officiants came over from Scotland to help perform the ceremony – complete with a kilt! This is the third wedding in the last year that’s included Scottish kilts, and we are 100% okay with that! We’ve loved Scotland ever since our days at Covenant College – they have a Scottish heritage and bring out the bagpipes for every important event.
Emily and Ben are such a sweet and kind couple! They’ve been such a joy to us ever since day one, and we’re so thankful to have been able to share these memories with them! Enjoy some of our favorite images from their wedding day!
A rose fell out of the bouquet during the bouquet toss, and Emily’s grandma caught it! It was the most precious thing!!!
