Spring wedding season is in full swing here in Alabama. I’m never sad when a White Barn at Padgett Place wedding is on our agenda! The team at Padgett Place puts so much heart into creating a dreamy wedding space for their couples. Jaymie and Ranzy brought a beautifully simple blue and white palette for their day, which worked so beautifully with the combination of white and golden wood of the venue.

It’s not too often we get a wedding day where it rains all. day. long. Jaymie and Ranzy get the distinction of one of those all-day drizzles where the rain stopped for only minutes at a time. They handled it with remarkable grace and patience. It brought so much extra joy to the day seeing how happy they were from getting ready to the final sendoff, regardless of the weather! A shout out to Padgett Place for having not one, but two covered balconies so we could still get outside for a private First Look and bride and groom portraits. Thank you for that!

We had a little 6 minute window of no rain before the reception entrance for final romantic portraits, and it was perfect. In a day full of joy, the extra little gifts for the photographers (hi, it’s us) made it even better. Jaymie and Ranzy are just such a fantastic couple. I was instantly drawn to their quiet nature and how they’re always looking out for the good of others. Kind, joyful, genuine, welcoming. That’s Jaymie and Ranzy!

A Few of My Favorite Wedding Details

Can I say the balconies? What a gift on a rainy wedding day! I also loved how it incorporated the vibe of the venue into the wedding portraits. And a shout out to the bridal suite, of course. I love Padgett Place’s bridal suite with the brick accent wall and comfy lounge chairs.

The food was really yummy! We’re Mason Dixon fans – they never disappoint! And we’ve had their food a lot. I’m also still thinking about the chocolate Cookie Fix cookie I tasted while Joel was covering the dance floor. Mmm, that was good. Bigfoot’s Little Donuts is a crowd pleaser. Jaymie and Ranzy picked all the good stuff!

Jaymie and Ranzy aren’t exactly wedding details, but we sure love our couples. We have the best ones!!!
