A Wedding Day Tip To Help You Be More Present

Tidbits

Sep 1, 2016

We’re sharing just a short little tidbit on the blog today!

On your wedding day, turn off your phone.

I heard the little gasp that slipped out right about now. And it’s okay. I understand. :)

But think about it this way. You know how you’re chilling at night and decide to check your Facebook? All of a sudden, you realize that 2 hours have slipped by and that you’re way past your bedtime. With an early morning meeting to look forward to, of course.

Or how a perfectly good day can be ruined by a crazy text or someone’s comment on social media?

Or how you’re sitting around the table with friends, waiting for your food. And everyone is half involved in the conversation and half involved in their texts?

So for this day, your wedding day, why not let it be different?

Turn off your phone and put it in your going-away bag. Or give it to a bridesmaid to monitor in case something important does happen that you will want to be notified about.

Tell all your family, wedding party, and vendors ahead of time that you won’t be around your phone that day. Give them someone to contact instead – such as your wedding coordinator, your mom, or your maid of honor.

But let your mind and your heart be fully present in every detail and emotion that’s happening.

You only have this one day. It flies by so quickly, anyway.

Give yourself the freedom to breathe it in, soak it up, and turn off the rest of the world for a few hours.

Because these moments will never happen again. And they are beautiful.

*hugs*

Amber
