Photographing a proposal is always such an incredible honor. It’s a beautiful, deeply rooted moment in the realm of time. The quiet anticipation, the careful planning, and then—just like that—a life-changing “yes” in a matter of seconds. It’s fleeting and unforgettable all at once. We’re often asked if we photograph proposals, and this is the reason it’s always a big “yes!” from us!

Matt and Emily came to Huntsville to spend the weekend exploring some of the neat things our city has to offer. Since they’ve never been to Huntsville Botanical Garden before, we did some extra planning to make sure all the logistics went smoothly and as planned. You all know Huntsville Botanical Garden is one of our favorite go-to spots for everything, and it never disappoints! We scoped out a quiet spot with plenty of early spring greenery that had a golden glow bonus.

The evening couldn’t have been more beautiful. As golden hour settled in, Matt and Emily wandered through the garden like it was any other summer evening. There’s always that moment right before it happens. The calm before everything changes, and we could feel it as they made their way toward the spot.

And then, just like that, he asked.

Emily’s reaction was everything. Joyful, emotional, completely genuine. SO excited. The kind of moment that reminds us why these 30 seconds matter so much.

Afterward, we spent a little time exploring the garden together, soaking in all the newfound excitement. Those first moments of being newly engaged are so full of life and emotion, and getting to capture that is something we’ll never take for granted.
