Derek + Olivia’s Classy Wedding at Lincoln Mill! – Huntsville Wedding Photography

We first met Olivia at a wedding we photographed earlier this year. Her sunshine smile and sweet, gentle personality won us over, and we couldn’t have been more excited when she asked us to photograph her own wedding!

Enter Derek. Full of energy and spirit, this guy has done it all. Professional soccer, professional skeleton racing, missions ministry…Derek is excitement waiting to happen. Our coffee consultation was more laughter and story sharing than business – and it was perfect.

Fast forward to their wedding. This wonderful, elegant wedding. After a crazy Christmas of 70 degree weather, tornadoes, and flooding, their wedding day awoke to promise more of the same. But just like any beautiful, expected gift – the clouds cleared away just two hours before Olivia would walk down the aisle to promise Derek her forever.

 

Derek’s mom just happens to be the creative wonderfulness behind Nip and Tuck Florist. Needless to say, there were beautiful flowers everywhere!

There may have been just a little (okay, a lot) of rain outside, but Derek and Olivia brought all the sunshine with their First Look!

We headed over to Lincoln Mill to get some fun shots there before the ceremony. What a neat and unique place for a wedding!

Derek’s gift to Olivia made us all laugh out loud! She rocked it, too!

These girls were full of smiles and laughter all day long!

And then there was this car. A 1929 Model A. It was love at first sight for us, and I think Derek and Olivia agreed…

So we couldn’t resist have just a little fun with this Model A!

We loved the amazing and thoughtful decor that Derek and Olivia incorporated into their wedding.

 

One of our very favorite stories from this wedding: Derek had secretly bought a diamond wedding ring for Olivia. She was expecting something different and had NO idea until he put the ring on her finger during the ceremony. I think she was excited. :)

Olivia’s family were missionaries in Hungary, and both Derek and Olivia have a huge heart for missions. We love how their reception decor brought out this little piece of their story!

Father/daughter dances need no words.

And….when TWO J&A Couples are in the same room, Amber WILL photobomb. Every time. :)

Derek and Olivia, your sweet friendship has been such a gift to us. We’re so thankful God brought you into our lives, and we couldn’t be more excited for your new life together!
