Vintage Blue and Gold Mansion Wedding at Burritt on the Mountain // Wedding Photographers in Huntsville, Alabama
We officially kicked off our fall wedding season with Rachel and Jared’s beautiful Burritt on the Mountain wedding day! There was so much thought put into this celebration and so much to love – I can’t wait to share all these pictures! Family history is really important to Rachel, and one of my favorite things about this wedding was how she seamlessly incorporated so many heirloom, historical, and personal elements. Everything about their Burritt wedding reflected Rachel and Jared so well, from their personal gifts to each other to the library card seating chart.
One of my favorite things about Burritt is the variety of backdrops and vibes, all within close walking distance. Greenery, the valley view, tree-lined sidewalks, and the historic mansion. Rachel and Jared utilized the full space with their guests, moving together between events. We started the day with first looks in the gazebo and the old church. A ceremony in front of the mansion was followed by cocktail hour on The View, dinner at Baron’s Bluff, and moving back out to the overlook to finish the night dancing under the stars.
Rachel and Jared make everything so fun! We loved every minute with them! Their classic downtown Huntsville engagement session showed us how natural they are in front of the camera and how adorable they are together. They rolled with everything during the wedding day and clearly basked in the excitement of the day and their love for each other. I loved watching them together! So sweet.
A Few of My Favorite Details
How to choose? Rachel took old family wedding pictures and displayed them along with her mother’s and grandmother’s wedding dresses. She added her grandmother’s cameo brooch to her bouquet and wears her great-great-great grandmother’s engagement ring. Burritt on the Mountain is a place special to her family, and memories are woven throughout the grounds. We saw the bench Rachel and Jared sat on during their first date and recreated a childhood picture of Rachel and her brother. New and old memories came together in a beautiful way!
One of my favorite parts of this day was how Rachel and Jared made space to spend unhurried, quiet time together. They exchanged gifts in the church, then took a few minutes to dance together before we headed out for portraits. They went to ring the church bell and savor the moments before getting ready to hang out at the cocktail hour with their guests. The timeline had space for these organic moments, and it was special to capture them.
Rachel wore a cape veil, and it may be a new favorite! It was beautiful and flowy, perfect for a veil toss, yet never pulled or got in the way. I loved the sleeves on it! Everything about that look was just stunning. I didn’t even know that cape veils were a thing until recently, but Rachel and her veil won me over instantly. Perfection!
There really was so much to love about this day and so many amazing, thoughtful details that perfectly matched their personalities. I could keep going, but a picture speaks a thousand words.

I think both the event and photos from it are all fantastic!! The only place I think there is room for improvement is if there was a tall funny handsome and smart redhead man in every picture. This small lapse is partly on me because I can’t be everywhere at once. Other than that wonderful memories captured. :)
