How beautiful a smile can be, especially when its on the face of the one you love.
In our marriage, Joel and I have discovered how powerful it is to encourage one another. Sometimes we just need a cheerleader. Someone to tell us that all the effort is worth it, that somewhere along the line we’re doing something right. Someone to remind us that we’re worth it. Someone to smile at us, even when we feel the most unlovable.
When I come home after a long day at work, I know what I’ll hear as soon as I get out of my car – the pitter patter of (size 15) feet come racing to the door with a huge smile on the most wonderful face. It doesn’t matter how good or bad my day was – everything melts away when I see that smile.
So love well. Even when you’re not quite feeling it, remember how powerful a smile is. Remember how powerful encouragement can be. Be the biggest cheerleader they’ve ever had.
