Can every November wedding be like this? Perfect 70-degree weather, colorful leaves, no wind (iykyk), a historic church in downtown Huntsville, kids everywhere, espresso chocolate cake, and all the family love. Courtney and Justin exchanged vows at St Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church, which was extra special as Courtney’s childhood church. I remember her saying that her family passes by the Roundhouse every time they go to church. So how perfect was it to walk down the street to a historic Roundhouse reception?
With the Wheelhouse Salon just across the street and the Roundhouse within easy walking distance to the church, the flow of the entire day was so seamless. Being able to walk over to an off-site reception space to take detail pictures between portraits and the ceremony is pretty much a unicorn in photography land, and I’m here for it.
Courtney and Justin are adorable together. This wedding weekend was the first time we got to connect with them in person, and it was so fun! Justin smiled a lot when he looked at Courtney. It was easy to see that they are so loved by the people around them!
There were a lot of nieces and nephews around, plus some others, and we were here for all the precious kids! You could see how important family was to this crowd and how they’ve intentionally built relationships. The maid of honor was Courtney’s sister, and her toast included a story of her and Courtney growing up. Following her narrative and encouragement of intentionally investing in relationships you care about really struck me. Just beautiful.
I’m officially convinced (and Joel supports me!) that every wedding reception needs inflatable instruments! Having kids and groomsmen running around with blow-up guitars, keyboards, and microphones was just so entertaining. The sunglasses and feather boas were bonus, but inflatable guitars were the stars of the show. Please scroll down to the reception so you can share in the enjoyment.
I love an interesting wedding cake! Courtney and Justin had 3 tiers, each a different flavor. You have me at espresso, and cheesecake also happens to be one of my favorite foods. They had both. Plus the guitars. You don’t want to miss any of it.

Courtney & Justin – thank you so much for the gift of capturing this special day for you! Thank you for your trust in us and for letting me throw crunchy fall leaves in your face as you run down the sidewalk. And thank you for introducing me to the happiness of inflatable band instruments at a reception. Wishing you the very best in your new journey together as husband and wife!
*hugs*

These pictures are fabulous and truly depict the beautiful wedding Courtney and Justin celebrated with all of us! FYI, watch out for two and a half year old boys with curly blonde hair and outgoing personalities – they really stir it up on the dance floor!

Kudos to The Mitchell’s, wonderful southern hospitality.
Joel and Amber did an amazing job! There were several pictures Courtney and Justin wanted for their memories of their wedding with all the special people that attended. Joel and Amber took control of getting them done in a clam and professional way. It would not have happened without their guidance. The pictures are just beautiful and captured a Wonderful Day perfectly.
It was a beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple from start to finish. A gorgeous church and a lovely venue for the reception. Everyone enjoyed themselves from the food to the designer drinks to the dancing. I will forever cherish the memories.
