Today on the J&A Blog, we’re going to share a helpful little tidbit about something you probably haven’t put much thought into: the bustle for your wedding dress.
Most brides bustle the train on their gown before the reception entrance. Bustling is helpful for several reasons! It makes it much easier for you to move around the room. Your guests (and your groom!) are less likely to accidentally step on your train, especially while you’re dancing. It also helps keep your dress from getting damaged.
There are all different bustle styles. If your dress doesn’t have a bustle already with it, definitely consider having your dress alterations seamstress add one for you. You’ll be thankful for it when you get on the dance floor!
Bustling your dress on the wedding day can sometimes be more complicated than you think. It made total sense to you and your bridesmaids when the dress shop showed you how to bustle, but somehow doing it yourself can feel so much more difficult!
Here’s a tip: have one of your bridesmaids take a video of the dress shop showing you how to bustle. Ask them to give you a running commentary while they demonstrate. If you get to the wedding day and can’t figure out how on earth she made it look so easy, you’ll have something to fall back on!
Your bustling video will also be a fun memory from your days of wedding planning. :)
