Growing the Garden {Building Marriage}

A Mocha For Your Tuesday

Sep 20, 2016

“Marriages, like a garden, take time to grow. But the harvest is rich unto those who patiently and tenderly care for the ground.”

~Darlene Schacht

I love this quote so much! When you get married, everything is a fairytale. You’re ridiculously happy and can’t imagine it getting any better.

After awhile, you start to realize that marriage takes work. It’s not always the fairytale you thought it was. When two different and imperfect people are in such an intimate relationship, sparks are bound to fly at some point!

I think it’s so helpful to remember the big picture. Marriage becomes even more beautiful as it matures, making your relationship deeper and more meaningful. But only if you patiently and carefully make it that way. Marriages don’t naturally grow deeper and more beautiful. It takes patience, effort, forgiveness, kindness, commitment, unconditional love, and many other things that require sacrifice from both sides.

But take courage! The rewards are rich.

What can you do this week to take a step toward creating a deeper, more meaningful marriage for your future?

*hugs*
