Let Him Succeed {Building Marriage}

Did you know that most husbands really and truly want to make their wives the happiest creatures on earth?

That sounds like it’s straight out of a Jane Austen novel…

The truth is that guys have a strong desire to be your hero. He wants to ride in like a knight, all decked out in gleaming armor and a strapped sword, winning the heart of his fair maiden. Or the dashing prince – rescuing a kind, beautiful servant girl from her unjust abode.

It’s fair enough to say that Cinderella is just as beloved to me as Sense and Sensibility. :)

If you want to be his fair maiden, it’s important to help your husband succeed.

What do I mean by that? I mean that you need to help him understand how to love you well! As women, we are incredibly complicated. I’m not even sure we understand ourselves sometimes. Guys definitely feel pretty lost.

Just because something is obvious to you doesn’t mean he’s going to pick up on it.

Think about two or three things your husband could do on a regular basis to make you feel truly loved and cherished. Don’t overwhelm him! Stick with just three.

Tell him why these things are important to you and how you will feel when he does this for you. Be super sweet about it! He needs to know that this is coming from your heart, not from a desire to nag. None of us like nagging!

Don’t just leave it there! Ask him what his deepest needs are. A healthy marriage involves two people trying to out-love each other. :)
