We’re so excited to introduce you to our J&A Bride, Lauren! We met Sean when he came to Huntsville for UAH, and started attending our church. We were so thrilled when his sweet bride-to-be Lauren asked us to be their wedding photographers! We’ll be taking a road trip to Atlanta in May to celebrate with these friends!
Also, we’re ridiculously excited about Sean’s kilt and the bagpipes.

here!)
How did you meet?
Sean and I met at church when we were both 14. I think we both secretly had crushes on each other, but nothing came of it until 3 years later when we started going out.
Where did you go on your first date?
We went to The Shakespeare Tavern in Atlanta to see ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream.’
How did he propose?
We went out on a nice date the day before New Year’s Eve; fancy dinner, Ferris Wheel ride downtown to see the Christmas lights; the works. I was convinced he was going to propose while we were on the Ferris Wheel because I knew he had talked to my dad a few weeks earlier. Well, I was wrong. I had always told him that I wanted to be surprised when he proposed, so he got me the next day while we were out hiking. I never pictured my proposal happening while I was bundled up like a marshmallow, but I wouldn’t change a thing :)
What has been your favorite part of the planning process?
We’ll be engaged for a year and a half by the time we get married and I have to say that I’ve loved having that much time to plan; it’s made things much less stressful now that the wedding is only a couple months away.
What personal or meaningful element are you incorporating into your wedding?
Sean is of Scottish descent and has always wanted a kilt, so I bought him one to wear at the wedding. His uncle will also be playing the bagpipes for our recessional, to go with the Scottish theme.
What kind of things do you like to do together?
Because we live 4 hours apart while Sean is in school, we don’t get to see each other very often. However, when we are together, we enjoy reading, hiking, and playing games.
What is your favorite cake flavor?
Chocolate!
Where would you go on your dream vacation and what would you do?
Hm, my dream vacation would be Europe and would probably require several months of vacation time to see all of the historical sights and museums that I’d want to visit! I’ve studied abroad in Rome and Britain, which only fueled my desire to explore the rest of Europe.
We can’t wait to share Sean and Lauren’s wedding on the J&A Blog this spring!
*hugs*
