With the changing colors of fall and the promise of sweater weather somewhere in our future come family mini sessions! These family portrait sessions are so special to us because we get to see so many of our wedding couples again and watch their families grow. This round of mini sessions was in the beautiful historic town of Mooresville. The entire town is on the National Register of Historic Places, and the old brick church is one of my favorite unique backgrounds in the area. There is so much beautiful green space to work with, which is fantastic for mini sessions.
Our mini sessions book up almost instantly with our J&A Couples (which we love!) and families that come to us every year for their family pictures, but we have a mini session email list that shares the love with anyone who joins that list. It was a treat to have two new families join us for this fall’s sessions! Our wedding schedule was really full earlier in the fall, which left some extra space for family session minis later in October and November. We’ve never been able to schedule 4 different mini session dates before, and it was so fun!! After a year of weddings, switching over to family portraits is a fresh experience to wind down our year.
Some favorites from this set of mini sessions were families incorporating neat props into a few portraits. One family brought in the family tartan and crest – so fun! Another favorite was a pair of professional viola players. The old brick church was perfect for that!
