Derek + Olivia’s Historic Athens Engagement Session! – Huntsville Wedding Photography

When we first met Derek and Olivia, we were pretty sure we were going to get along just fine. By the time their engagement session was finished, we were making plans to have dinner together in the next few weeks. These two are just treasures! They met us through one of our other J&A Couples – Olivia was one of the program attendants at David and Cierra’s wedding in June! They came up with the idea to do their engagement session around downtown Athens. Derek’s family has been around that area for a long time, and he had all kinds of great stories to tell us! We love it when our couples choose somewhere meaningful to do their session. From Athens State University to a funky old stop sign and one of the coolest little ice cream shops we’ve seen, their session was full of so many fun little shots!

When this was the very first picture we snapped of the entire night, we knew it was going to be amazing. I mean, how perfect are these two??

I also swoon for beautiful, old buildings. Athens State University was a dreamy place for this engagement session!

Derek and Olivia took us to this amazing little ice cream shop called Kreme Delight. Derek’s grandpa and grandma went on their first date to to this cute little place. *swoon*

Plus, these two are the most adorable ice cream eaters! :)

We took a detour to this super cool historical stop sign. I think it’s one of the oldest stop signs in the state of Alabama. I don’t think I would have even noticed it if Derek hadn’t brought us over to check it out!

Seriously. These two.
